Following thorough consideration of the entries to its fourth annual photo contest, Lightning Labels, an all-digital label converter in Denver, CO, USA, announced that five winners have been chosen from the pack. In a bid to qualify for prizes such as electronics and free label printing, contest participants submitted photos of their products, all of which featured custom labels and stickers printed by Lightning Labels.

The winners are:

  •     Grand prize: Scentsational Soaps of California, winner of a Canon EOS Rebel camera
  •     Second place: Milwaukee Candle and Apothecary of Wisconsin, winner of a 40-inch high-definition flat-screen TV
  •     Third place: Art Scents of Hawaii, winner of a Kindle Fire HDX
  •     Fourth place: Southern Girl Soapery of Arkansas, recipient of $500 in Lightning Labels credit
  •     Fifth place: Sweet Tea Junkie of Florida, recipient of $300 in Lightning Labels credit
“On behalf of Lightning Labels, I would like to offer a huge ‘Congratulations!’ to the top five winners of our fourth annual photo contest,” says Scott Proctor, vice president of sales at Lightning Labels. “We are proud to count Scentsational Soaps, Milwaukee Candle and Apothecary, Art Scents, Southern Girl Soapery and Sweet Tea Junkie among our customers and are excited to see how they use their well-earned prizes to help grow their businesses.”

The electronic devices awarded to the top three Lightning Labels photo contest participants are much more than just nice-to-have items. Overall winner Scentsational Soaps will be able to use the Canon EOS Rebel camera to take crisp, vivid photos of products and other subjects as part of its promotional efforts, while the HDTV will serve in both an aesthetic and functional capacity for Milwaukee Candle and Apothecary, which can use it for everything from displaying marketing materials in-store to making presentations and holding video conferences behind the scenes. Meanwhile, Art Scents will be able to leverage the Kindle Fire HDX tablet and e-reader as everything from a payment portal to a way to display its digital catalog. Lastly, Southern Girl Soapery and Sweet Tea Junkie will continue to benefit from the same top-quality stickers and labels they’ve enjoyed from Lightning Labels in the past – but this time, the packaging will be free.

After the submission period for this year’s label contest closed on June 27, Lightning Labels posted all of the entries on its Facebook page and encouraged its followers to vote for their favorites. This transparent process allowed all participants – not just the winners – to gain exposure, get the word out about their products and brands, and seize the chance to show that labels can be works of art in their own right.
